KwaZulu-Natal Athletics hereby invite all media to a media briefing.

On the 28th July 2022 the High Court in Pietermaritzburg issued an interim court interdict
retraining KwaZulu Natal Athletics from hosting and staging the Mandela Day Marathon on the 7th
August 2022. Pursuant to the interim order, uMgungundlovu District Municipality and Inkosi
Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela have since issued media statements regarding the athletic event of
the 7th August 2022 August organised by KZNA.

The KwaZulu Natal Athletics deems it fit and prudent that it set the record for the public and the
athletics family in KwaZulu Natal regarding this subject hence the media invite.
