Dear Members

We would like to introduce the newly appointed KZNA Coaching Coordinator, Mr Xolani Mabida who is no stranger to KwaZulu-Natal as one of our very own.  He has been part of KZNA and ASA Coaching Team Management and produced KZN and National Athletes over the past few years. He will be assisting KZNA with the coordination of related programs. We look forward to the positive contribution he is going to bring to athletics development throughout the province. 

Thank you to Amanzimtoti AC for incorporating the KZNA Half Marathon Championships on Sunday, 7 April 2024. It was such a lively environment despite the weather conditions.

1.1.1    1^st Notice was sent out to clubs on the 25^th March 2024.

1.1.2    All submissions to be included on the agenda for discussion must reach the KZNA Office (jessica@kznathletics.co.za ) by 18/04/2024.

2.           APPLICATIONS

2. EADP 

The process for applications to the Elite Athlete Development Programme is open for the period 2024/2025. The process and criteria are specified in the attached Criteria document, please read carefully and follow the instructions specified.

Applications are to be emailed with all relevant supporting documents to: coach@kznathletics.co.za. The window for applications is Closing 17 April 2024.

3.1.1    KZNA LEGUE 5 – Will be taking place on Saturday, 20 April 2024, at Kwabukuda in Zululand District, hosted by Edumbe AC.

3.1.2    KZNA LEGUE 6 – Will be taking place on Saturday, 20 April 2024, at Howick West Sport Complex in Umgungudlovu, hosted by Umgeni Howick Academy.

3.1.3    KZNA LEAGUE 7 – Will be taking place on Saturday, 20 April 2024, at Tabane High School Ground in UThukela District, hosted by Drakensberg AC.

3.1.4    KZNA LEAGUE 8 – Will be taking place on Saturday, 20 April 2024, at Empangeni in King Cetswayo District, hosted by Empangeni AC.

3.2.1       KZNA League 9 – Liv Village Durban, scheduled for the 27^th April 2024 has been postponed to 20 July 2024.

Final team has been sent out and selection letters will be sent out on Thursday, 11 April 2024 to clubs. We request chairpersons to assist with sending the information to athletes and facilitate in the athletes completing and submitting documents before the deadline.

5. FIXTURE UPDATES 

5.3.1    King Cetshwayo Marathon has changed race date to 12 May 2024.

5.3.2    Chillie Lifestyle Race has changed race date to 16 June 2024.
