This race has become the most popular marathon and half marathon combination in KwaZulu-Natal. The race not only has generously achievable cut off times (four hours for 21,1 km and seven hours for the marathon) but caters equally for runners and walkers. This is an ideal entry level Marathon, Half Marathon or 10km. The basket of races also includes a 10km race beginning at 9.30am. This is open to runners and walkers and has a generous 2 hour 30 minute limit.

Marathon participants who have not passed the half marathon turn in by 3 hours 15 minutes (8.45am) will not be allowed to continue but may complete the half marathon until the 4 hours’ time limit.

27 km mark by 4 hours & 30 minutes (9:30am) (Imperial Hotel)
31km mark by 5 hours (10am) Harry Gwala Stadium island)
34 km mark by 5 hours and 30 minutes (10.30am) (Emmett Crescent and Alexandra Road Extension)
36 km mark by 6 hours (11am) (Oribi Airfield area in Oribi Road)
Will be called off and must leave the road & will be transported to the finish venue.
10km participants who have not passed 5 km mark by 1 hour & 30 minutes (11am) will be called off and must leave the road & will be transported to the finish venue.
All marathon & half marathon entrants must collect their race number & timing chip from the registration venue between 9am & 8pm on Friday 22 or Saturday 23 February between 9am & 5pm, or before the start on Sunday 24 February between 4am & 4.45am.
All 10km entrants who have pre-entered may collect their entries at the same times or between 7am & 8:30am on Sunday, prior to the start of the race. ‘Late entries' for the 10km may be sold, if the safety cap (limit) has not already been reached, up to and including 5pm on Saturday 23rd February & these late entrants will not receive free Tee Shirts.
