Entries for the Durban International Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, 5 September 2021, are now open. The inaugural edition of the local running spectacle, which aims to put the City of Durban on the road-running map, will be hosted by Phantane Athletics Club, under the auspices of KwaZulu-Natal Athletics.

Entries close on Thursday, 2 September 2021. Race pack collection to take place on Saturday, 4 September between 12noon and 4pm at the Kingspark Athletics Stadium.
The 10km and 42.2km race will start and finish at the Moses Mabhida Peoples Park in Durban.
Route maps and other operational and logistical information will be shared with the media and prospective participants in due course.
KZNA President, Steve Mkasi confirmed that the #DurbanInternationalMarathon will also incorporate the KZN Champs.
The Durban International Marathon 42,2km race will be used for selection of Team KZN. The 10km race at the Prince Mangosuthu Ultramarathon, hosted by Biggarsburg AC, also on 5.9.2021, will be used as the KZN10km Championship.
