The 2022 permanent licenses have arrived and is ready for collection. However, we notice that very few clubs have submitted and paid their 2022 affiliation fees. Kindly note that NO LICENSES WILL BE ISSUED to a club who has not not yet paid their fees. We urge our clubs to do this necessary admin task ASAP. If a club is in default it will affect their members and ultimately race organizers as many athletes are waiting on their 2022 licenses. Race organizing clubs who have not yet paid their affiliation fees risk cancellation of their event. We do understand that covid had a detrimental effect on our running community the past two years, but we do appeal to our clubs and their committees to help us all getting back into the groove.

See below all the documents required for the 2022 season. Please note that no license must be issued without receiving the fully completed and signed ASA License number application form from the athlete. This data is fed into a national database for verification and is also required for insurance purposes.

We do get a number of queries regarding (1) the limitation on only being able to buy a permanent license from an affiliated club as well as (2) the fee structures and costs associated to affiliation fees, license fees and temporary license fees. The first item is governed by the ASA & KZNA constitution and relating procedures. In short, the reason is to ensure the existence and viability of clubs. The second item is a standing item on the annual AGM held in November each year. All clubs are invited where a collective decision is first deliberated and then voted upon. Fees are NEVER a one-sided decision done by KZNA or the office. The members are consulted and the members vote for any changes.
