2020 KZNA Track & Field L5 – RESULTS

KZNA hosted a very successful track & field league on Saturday the 15th of February. Despite the extreme heat conditions we had a good turnout and some exceptional races and results. KZNA can be very proud of the standard of athletics in our province and we are looking forward in great anticipation to the 2020 KZNA U16, U18 & U20 championships scheduled for 6 – 8 March.

There were many highlights, but a few results stand out from the rest. Morne Hattingh ran a blistering 21.42 in the U20 300m race. Mbuleli Matanga first ran the men 3000m in the morning (8:10,82) and then had the crowds on their feet in the 10 000m in the afternoon, winning in 28:55,83. Mbuleli is currently busy preparing for the 2020 World 21km champs where he will represent South Africa. The event is scheduled to take place on 29 March and we all wish him well in his preparations. Dayle Koekemoer showed some class in the girls U18 100m (12.57) and 200m (25.54).

This was the FINAL league for 2020 and athletes will now start preparing for the 2020 KZNA U16, U18 & U20 championships from 6 – 8 March to be held at Kingspark Athletics Stadium in Durban. Entry forms and program will be published soon.
