It is important to note that athletes born in 1997/8 may ONLY compete at the leagues and not at Championship level, unless a Sub-Youth age group is specifically offered. This Domicile Rule applies to allow our Sub-Youth athletes the opportunity to prepare for the Schools Championships, where competition is limited. The Age groups are according to the IAAF Age Disparity Rule. The Competition Management have the right to request proof of age during any event conducted under the rules of ASA and KZNA.
- Athletes must be members of a Club or School in good standing with Kwa-Zulu Natal Athletes, those athletes who register with one club may NOT change clubs without written consent from the departing club and written acceptance of the accepting club. This information must also be submitted to the KZNA office as well, to be ratified, otherwise the athlete will continue with the initially registered club.
- ALL athletes MUST be Licensed with a PERMANENT License number and compete for their Club in their Club Colours. You can obtain a Permanent License number from your Club, or directly from the KZNA Offices for those who represent their schools and are not club members. (Temporary numbers will be the exception on the day and not the norm, athletes purchasing temporary numbers will not be registered on the data base or have official results approved.) Athletes must wear both permanent license numbers, one on the front Chest and one on the centre back when competing (High Jump & Pole vault Athletes may compete with only a front or back number respectfully, but must have their 2nd number in their possession).Failure to carry out this simple request will mean that the athlete will not be allowed to participate.
- Athletes must also be appropriately attired for competition, undesirable or if inappropriately dressed will mean athletes will not be allowed to compete.
- Athletes may also NOT compete in KZNA Kit at Leagues or Championships, if you wear such kit in competition you have the possibility of being disqualified. KZNA kit may ONLY be worn when representing the Provincial Federation at a nationally organised event.
- The presentation of yourself in your Club kit, with your Permanent License numbers on your kit and your gate ticket will be required to compete in any event.

- Relay’s will be offered from league 2 onwards, where pre-selected athletes will be named in these teams as preparation for possible national events where relays play a vital part of the competition.
- For League Competitions :- Entries for ALL Events will ONLY be accepted as Pre-Entry up until the Thursday evening before the competition, on the prescribed entry form that will be available from the KZNA office or the person involved with Competition Operations. Failure to enter by this day will mean NO competition. We are trying to increase the flowing of events and the late entries on the day create an immense amount of turmoil and in many cases cause the event to run late.
- For Championships :- Entries will ONLY be accepted as Pre-Entry up until the specified closing date of that championship. Where athletes would have had to have competed in a minimum of 3 of the 7 leagues offered and at least twice in the events being entered (there will be a database of competitions kept for those who may feel they could get away with less). Only athletes who are invited to 2 or more Yellow Pages Series Events will be excluded from the above, that only if the YPS event clashes with a league. No Entries will be entertained after the closing date.
- Entries will ONLY be accepted if emailed to the Operations team and the KZNA office on the prescribed entry form.
